State BJP legislators to donate one month’s salary

Dimapur, August 5: The Bharatiya Janata Party Unit (BJP) has expressed concern over the continuous heavy rains causing immense hardships to the people of the state with lives lost, families displaced, properties damaged and infrastructure and communication facilities which includes both private and public sector.
While sharing concern with all the citizens of the State during the hard time, the Party appealed to all to remain calm and extend its cooperation to the various machineries who are tireless battling the hard situation, carrying out relief and rehabilitation operations in the affected areas.
In this connection, the BJP legislators of the State would contributed one month’s salary in aid of the affected people due the unfortunate natural disaster in the state, this is in conformity with the BLP leader & Dy. Chief Minister, Y Patton and Party President & Minister, Temjen Imna Along, who is stationed at Delhi now.
Meanwhile, appreciating the Minister of State (MoS) for Home, Kiren Rijiju representing the Central team for assuring all supports from the Centre and who also undertook aerial survey of the damaged areas by floods and landslides in the State (Kohima, Meluri, Kiphire and Doyang Dam) today accompanied by the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, the State BJP Unit appealed to the Central government to urgently intervene with more assistance since the State has inadequate resources and machineries to meet the needs.
The Party also appreciated the Central team consisting of 35 rescuers from NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) who are already deployed in Nagaland to assist the state administration in the relief and rescue measures, distribution of essential material and providing medical support to the affected people and two Air force helicopters deployed in the state for the same purpose. Meanwhile, the state BJP has informed National president about the natural calamity in Nagaland and urged him to do the needful at the Central level to provide relief to the state. (Page News Service)
