State BJP clarifies

Dimapur, May 21: Reacting to the statement made by TR Zeliang, former Chief Minister as to why NDPP did not try to withdraw the “drastic action taken against its two leaders Shri Kheto Sema former Minister and BJP State executive member and Shri Tsasepi Sangtam, State BJP Vice President who were signatories to the joint statements issued along with several organization on January 29th this year,” the State BJP has clarified that BJP being a national party had to abide by the directives of the Central leaders.
In a clarification, the State BJP said the two leaders were suspended accordingly which happened due to “communication gap”. “However later, with due consultation of the Central BJP leaders, the suspension order was revoked in the larger interest of the party during the second week of February 2018, which was widely published in the print media,” it said.
The BJP also clarified that the issue took place during the DAN regime (Democratic Alliance of Nagaland), when BJP was an alliance partner under the Chief Ministership of TR Zeliang and not with NDPP.
Stating that it is “entertained” to know that TR Zeliang is concerned about the internal matters of BJP when the NPF has bigger predicament of its own, the State BJP said it is competent enough now to take care of its internal issues as the party has “its high command to guide it.”
