State badminton c’ship underway


Dimapur, August 9: The 42nd Nagaland Inter District and State Open Badminton championship got underway at the Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, Pfutsero on Wednesday with Minister for Planning and Coordination and Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu as the chief host and Advisor, Youth Resources and Sports, Er. Zale Neikha as chief patron. Organised by the Nagaland Badminton Association, the championship is being hosted by Phek District Badminton Association.
Kronu in his address highlighted briefly about the landscape of Pfutsero town area and its people. He lamented that Nagaland is having a hard time due to incessant torrential rains causing widespread damage in the state. He lauded the organisers for their commendable works and wished the player to give their best.
Er. Zale Neikha in his short speech said Nagas have the potential to compete with others in the field of badminton. He advised the players to put more focus on the game and play with full dedication.
