Dimapur, July 19: Advisor for Prisons, Printing & Stationery, H. Haiying and Advisor for Law & Justice, Border Affairs and Treasuries & Accounts Dr Longriniken met Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju at New Delhi today.
In the meeting, Haiying appraised the Mos Home on the present condition of Central jail at Dimapur and 10 sub-jails in the district of Nagaland. Advisor Haiying also submitted a proposal on modernization and infrastructure development of central jail Dimapur and district sub-jails in the state; establishment of a women jail at Dimapur; construction of modern jail at Dimapur and construction of open prisons in Dimapur and Kohima. Haiying appealed the Union Minister to look into the matter on top priority.
Rijiju took note of the issue raised by the two Advisors and said he will take up the matter seriously with the concerned ministry for sanctioning.
