Kohima, January 3: Nagaland Football Coaches Association (NFCA) president Roko Angami challenged the youth to stand by the principles of discipline so as to become successful sportspersons.
Speaking at the valedictory function of 52nd anniversary celebration of Meriema Village Youth Games & Sports Meet 2021 on December 31 last at Meriema village under Kohima district, Roko told the youth to make the best use of their talents and maintain perseverance to excel in the field of games and sports.
In sports, he said, one cannot move forward without discipline.
Gracing the occasion as the guest of honor, Roko said that he pursued the game of football with utmost sincerity and with parental’s love and God’s blessing, he accomplished his aspiration as an international football player.
He played in Israel in 1994.
Stressing on the need stay focused on sports ethics, he maintained that respect to coaches, parents and elders also plays important factor for successful journey in sports industry.
Further, he urged upon the youth to always take team spirit as a fundamental component to emerge victorious in sports.
Earlier, the function was be chaired by organizing committee member Dr. Thepfudi Shiiya.
Prize distribution was led by Meriema Village Youth Organization vice president Ruokuohelie Vipfhe while vote of thanks was proposed by organizing committee member Keneiwelie Shiiya. (Page News Service)
