Dimapur, March 1: As part of Departmental activity of the college, the Political Science Department, St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama, Kohima had successfully conducted the 4th Mini- Parliament on February 29 at the College Indoor Stadium. The faculty members and students of the department attended the event.
Various significant and contemporary issues of the country such as National Register of Citizens, Citizenship Amendment Act, Economic Slowdown and Arm Forces Special Powers Act were discussed during the session. The session commenced with the address by the President, followed by introduction of various bills by the concerned Ministers.
Proceedings in the house witnessed hot exchanges of words between the ruling and opposition parties on these issues. The debate went to such an extent that there was no decorum in the House, as such the Speaker had to pronounce the session Sine die. (Page News Service)
