St. Joseph catholic community gets new church

Dimapur, January 31: A new church under the patronage of St. Joseph was blessed and inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima on January 31 at Khumchoyan under Sacred Heart Parish Bhandari in presence of fathers, sisters, well-wishers, village elders and leaders, parish community and friends.
Bishop James Thoppil, in his homily, reminded the assembly that we are all temple of the Holy Spirit. He said that a church is the external sign of God’s love of the internal disposition of every Christian. He affirmed that we need to be the seed that is sown in a good soil to produce a good fruit. He congratulated the persons responsible for the construction of the new Church. The Church was blessed in and around. The lectern and the crucifix were also blessed during the occasion.
Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. John Ntonse, priest in-charge, Longsa accorded the words of welcome and NchumbemoYathan, catechist, Khumchoyan delivered the words of gratitude.
