Kohima, May 20: The Sumi Area Affected Landowners Welfare Committee (SSAALWC) has agreed to allow construction of the Zunheboto-Chakhabama two-lane road after resolving all hiccups.
Earlier the committee had asked the contractors to stop construction of road due to non-payment of land compensation. But after the intervention by the Zunheboto district administration, Sumi Hoho and Sumi Officers’ Union Zunheboto the matter was resolved, and a joint resolution was issued to allow construction work to continue between Zunheboto and Chakhabama.
After the meeting today, a joint resolution was issue where the SSAALWC has decided to withdraw the stoppage and allow the road construction work to resume in the larger public interest with immediate effect.

Further the joint resolution also resolved that henceforth if any individual or group obstructs the ongoing road construction or any developmental activities in the district, strict legal action shall be initiated against the defaulters as per the provision of the law. (Page News Service)
