SRSU biennial conference underway

Dimapur, January 11: The 34th biennial conference of Satakha Range Students’ Union (SRSU) began on January 10 at Kilo Old Village under the theme “Quest for Excellence.”
On January 10 during the introductory session, Kakuto Shohe, former President SRSU was the resource person. During the programme, Nikhuje Swu, Head GB Kilo Old Village delivered the welcome address while President, GB’s Association Satakha Area, Hokugha Chishi also exhorted the gathering.
In his speech, Kakuto urged upon students to first seek God and embark on their endeavours and to be determined without swaying away towards wordly distractions. He also told the students to maintain their identity and culture.
The inaugural session was held on January 11 with Minister for Agriculture and Cooperation, G. Kaito Aye as the special guest. All Sumi Students’ Union, Atokiho Sumi also exhorted the gathering.
After the inaugural session, the students took part in various games and sports including indigenous games and cultural items.
Cultural session was held on January 11 evening with Dr. Hotokhu Chishi, Joint Director, H&FW Department as the resource speaker who spoke on the topic “Sumi of Today.” (Page News Service)
