DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 30: Dimapur police has notified maximum speed limit of 50 Km/hour for all types of motor vehicles from Zion Hospital Junction to Chumoukedima with effect from December 1.
The speed limit within Dimapur town area is 30 Km/hour.
In an order, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Kevithuto Sophie said the maximum speed limit of motor vehicles is necessitated in view of increasing number of road traffic accidents due to over speeding.
The speed limit will be enforced for a period of one month from December 1 to 31, the order informed.
The order, however, the CP’s order did not mention the enforcing and monitoring agency for said speed limits, as well as the penalty for violation of the same.
