Kohima, February 11: A 5-day long special phase for NISHTHA training for elementary teachers and head teachers under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland got underway today at Pungro town under Kiphire district. The programme will continue till February 15.
Nuhuta Tunyi, EAC Pungro exhorted the teachers in the introductory session. He stated that quality teaching is essential for quality education.
Kelhikha Kenye, Assistant Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha who is coordinating NISHTHA training programme in his keynote address informed the teachers that Pungro is the only education block for who special NISHTHA training is organised and reminded the teachers that the School Education Department, Samagra Shiksha and SCERT who is jointly organising the programme is totally committed to ensure that not a single elementary teachers are left behind in this mega training exercise.
Kenye stated that NISHTHA training programme is the biggest teacher training programme in the world to train 42 lakh teachers throughout the country.
He informed the teachers that 7250 teachers have been covered in Nagaland in the first two phases.
Currently, 113 teachers have registered for Pungro phase. The resource persons are from SCERT, DIET and School Education Department.
