KOLKATA, January 27: Sourav Ganguly, BCCI President and former Indian captain was admitted to Apollo hospital on Wednesday afternoon. This is the second time in January he had to be hospitalised. Earlier this month he had complained of discomfort while exercising in his gymnasium at home and later an angioplasty was performed and a stent was inserted.
On Wednesday he had to be hospitalised as he had some discomfort from Tuesday night. He was taken to the hospital through a green corridor channel made by the policemen. However, he was seen walking out of the car to get admitted. It took nearly 25 minutes to reach the hospital from his home at Behala.
At the hospital, he was taken to the Cath Lab and an Echocardiogram was done in which some anomalies were spotted. The ECG report was not very regular, so further tests are going to be done. He has been kept under observation, doctors said.
Ganguly had blockages in the heart according to doctors and so the blockages are going to be reviewed through angiogram. The doctors want to be sure that the chest pain he suffered was due to a heart ailment.
His family members are there with him in the hospital. Abhishek Dalmia, CAB president had also been to the hospital.
Union home minister Amit Shah, concerned with Ganguly’s health rang up to great more information about the latest status of Ganguly’s health. (TNN)
