Solution must reflect political vision envisaged by Naga martyrs: NSCN (IM)

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 20: The NSCN (IM) has stated that the Naga political solution must reflect the political vision as envisaged by Naga martyrs for the Naga nation.
“Fragmented and divisive solution is not worth the blood, tears and sweat of the martyrs”, it said.

An editorial in its monthly mouthpiece ‘Nagalim Voice’ said, “As the Naga political issue is being negotiated at a fast pace we cannot think of honouring the Naga martyrs in befitting manner other than to stand firm for the reason they suffered martyrdom – defending the nation’s pride and identity.”
The editorial stated that the NSCN (IM) entered into a ceasefire agreement with the Government of India with “our national identity intact” and started the political dialogue in the same spirit as shown by “our national heroes and martyrs”.
“The ideals and principles incorporated in the Naga constitution (Yehzabo) can never be compromised nor the Naga national flag allowed to be dishonoured as these are sensitively linked with the Naga martyrs,” it said.
Stating that Naga martyrs have left an immortal memory behind them, deserving to be honoured in a meaningful manner, the NSCN (IM) maintained that no meaning would be served if the Naga political identity is destroyed under the scheming politics of the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks.
“This is the irony of the situation that the Nagas are faced with today. NSCN is, however, fully committed never to betray the Naga martyrs. They are the masters of the Naga political movement and we shall stand faithful to the path laid down by them”, it declared.

“We are, therefore, warranted to take the stand under Nagalim for Christ that justice should be delivered to the martyrs and allow their spirits to rest in peace when the much awaited Naga solution is signed”, it added.
