SLAB for advising Municipal Authorities constituted


Dimapur, June 4: The Governor of Nagaland has constituted a State Level Advisory Body (SLAB) for advising the Municipal Authorities for implementation of ‘Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016’ comprising of the following members.
Commissioner & Secretary, Urban Development Department, Govt. of Nagaland as Ex-Officio Chairperson, one representative of Rural Development Department not below the rank of Joint Secretary to the Govt. of Nagaland; 1 Department (Revenue Branch), Govt. of Nagaland; 1 representative from Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India; 1representative from Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India; 1representative from Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India; 1 representative from the Central Pollution Control Board; 1 representative from the State Pollution Control Board or Pollution Control Committee; 1 representative from National Institute of Technology, Nagaland as Ex-Officio Members.; Director, Urban Development, Nagaland-member; Three representatives from the local bodies by rotation-members;
Two representatives from Census Towns or Urban agglomerations by rotation-member; 1representative from reputed Non-Governmental Organisation or Civil Society working for the waste pickers or informal recycler or solid waste management-member; 1 representative from a body representing Industries at the State or Central level-member; 1 representative from Waste Recycling Industry-member; Two subject Experts-Members and 1representative each from Agriculture Department and Labour & Employment Department, Govt. of Nagaland–Co-opted Member.
