SKK observes Sumi Patriots Day


Dimapur, August 6: The Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu observed Sumi Patriots Day on August 4 at Zunheboto town in commemoration of those Sumis who undertook hardship and struggles till their last breath, sacrificing their life for the cause of Naga freedom movement, and it also observed in commemoration to mark the 50th death anniversary of late General Kaito Sukhai, First Commander-in-Chief of Naga Army, the youngest general in the world.
The programme was attended by different Sumi civil societies, organizations and students from various institutions. The programme was chaired by Ninoto Awomi, tribal general SKK. Keynote address was delivered by Atokiho Sumi, president, SKK, solidarity speed by Sumi Hoho, speech on recollection of past observation by Dr H S Rotokha, former president Sumi Hoho. Nagatoli Yepthomi and Lashika Zhimomi delivered speeches on behalf of patriots’ family and the SKK Anthem was sung by Immanuel Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto. (Page News Service)
