Kohima, September 10: The All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) today delivered 100 bags of rice to the people of Kiphire who have been facing shortage of essential commodities due to snapping of roads by landslides.
A truck load of rice reached Kiphire town this morning which was received by NGOs, including those from the Sumi community. Among other NGOs, Eastern Sumi Hoho, Sumi Community Kiphire Town and Kiphire Tuensang District Sumi Students’ Union received the assistance and handed over to the District administration.
Some organisations have extended help to the affected people of Kiphire district in the last couple of days.
Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio had also visited the district and assured them of assistance.
