Nagaland News

Dimapur, September 24: St. Joseph University, Chumoukedima, held a four-day workshop on effective communication and interview skills, with executives from Talent Acquaintance as the resource persons.
A press release stated that that main resource person of the workshop, Anil Makvana, Managing Director of Talent Acquaintance, exhorted the students on the need for good communication skills and how possessing them is an asset to oneself.
Job seekers in Nagaland should have an open mind to relocate as there are not many companies or organizations that can absorb the thousands of graduates who pass out every year, said Makvana.
The workshop was divided into two parts, the first two days were for the post-graduates and the remaining days were for the undergraduates. Writing resumes and individual mock interviews were some of the activities conducted in the workshop.
Sashilemba Aier, Business Director, Talent Acquaintance, said there are 1.8 lac unemployed youths in Nagaland, and added that the job seekers must look beyond the government sector if they want to earn and have a job.
Aching Susanna, the Placement Cell Coordinator, encouraged the students to build confidence in communication, further adding that even if one has the best of subject matter knowledge but is unable to communicate, it can prevent one from getting the best of opportunities.
On the first day of the workshop, Dr. Kinitoli Yeptho, Dean of Academics, felicitated the resource persons. The workshop was held from September 19 to 22. (Page News Service)
