SJU conducts FDP

Dimapur, June 12: St. Joseph University, Ikishe Model Village, organised 3 days Faculty Development Programme (FDP) in collaboration with ICT Academy on the theme “IDEA GENERATION METHODS” from June 8 to 10.
It was the first offline program to be hosted in Nagaland as such. Faculties from the organising university and other institutions actively participated in the FDP. The program began with Inaugural Session and was hosted by Mary Debbarma, Assistant professor, Department of Computer Science, SJU.
Ankita Sarma, Assistant professor, Department of Computer Science, SJU welcomed guests from ICT Academy, dignities from SJU and faculty members. Dr.Pradeep Kumar Kenny, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science, ICT-coordinator SJU gave a brief introduction regarding the ICT academy and its programs. In addition to that, he briefed about “what is Idea Generation Methods?”
Subhash Upadhyaya, ICT Academy State Head, elucidate a keynote address about ICT academy and its programs. Dr. D. Gnanadurai, Vice-Chancellor, SJU gave a Presidential address about the importance of faculties developing their knowledge and how to utilize new technologies for learning purposes. Benediction was delivered by Fr.L.Anish, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science.
Creative Thinking is a trait that cannot be exhibited by all. But how else can someone show creativity even when they are not born with the quality? The focus of the FDP was primarily on that and after the inaugural session, Sunil Borah, a senior trainer from ICT Academy discussed the following key points, such as, changing perspective and identifying what type of thinker (critical or creative), brainstorming, 6 thinking Hats, storyboarding and scamper technique, etc.
The valedictory section was hosted by Mary Debbarma, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, SJU. The session started with the participant’s feedback about the FDP program. Certificate distribution by dignitaries for all the participants in the FDP program Deep Sekhar Sapcota, ICT Academy Relation Manager delivered a special address about ICT academy research journals and student placements.
Dr. I Arockia Mary, Dean of Administration, thanked our valued Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Register Sister Thianes, Fathers from the management, Dean of Academics, Dr.Pradeep Kumar Kenny and faculties. She expressed his gratitude to the organizers and participants of each event and wished them.
