Dimapur, December 22: Nagaland U-23 team lost to Sikkim by 3 wickets in the Men’s U-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy 2019-20 played at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima.
Resuming from their overnight score of 119/7, Nagaland was bowled out for 196 in the second innings leaving the visitor a target of 166 to win the match. For Nagaland Puchu top scored with 57, while Sikkim’s Md Saptula took 8 Nagaland wickets.
Nagaland had earlier scored 280 in the first inning.
Chasing 166 for a win, Sikkim achieved the target losing 7 wickets to register a 3 wickets win. For Sikkim, Harit top scored with 44. For Nagaland, Vaibhav took 4 wickets.
State U-19 suffer inning’s defeat
Meanwhile, in the Men’s U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy, Chandigarh trounced Nagaland by an inning and 167 runs at GSSS, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
Resuming from its overnight score of 378/4, Chandigarh declared their inning at 440/8. Coming out to bat needing 277 runs to make Chandigarh bat again, the visitor’s were bowled out for 110. Only Hem showed some resistance in scoring 69. For Chandigarh Sehbaaz and Yuvraj took 3 wickets each.
