Shortage of police force discussed in Longleng DPDB meet

Dimapur, November 9: Longleng District Planning & Development Board meeting was held under the chairmanship of the DC Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam on November 8 in the DC’s conference hall.
The board discussed shortage of police force in the district and non-functioning of Tamlu and Yonglok police station after it was upgraded. Superintendent of Police Longleng, Yangba Konyak highlighted the overall strength of police force in Longleng district. He informed that the strength of the police force in the district was functioning with the same status when Longleng was under SDPO even after it was upgraded to SP. He asserted that Tamlu and Yonglok were made non-functional due to shortage of Inspector, Sub-Inspector and ASI despite having completed the basic facilities and infrastructure development.
Basing on the status report and grievances of the police force in the district the board recommended the matter to the concerned authority.
The Board also recommended for construction of new office building of District Culture Office Longleng after it was briefed by Mapeudibe DCO, Longleng.
Zunheboto: The monthly meeting of Zunheboto District Planning and Development Board was held on November 8 in the DC’s conference hall, Zunheboto under the chairmanship of Advisor, Tourism and Art & Culture, Khehovi Yepthomi, chairman DPDB Zunheboto.
The chairman asked the members to be regular in attending DPDB meetings and asked Deputy Commissioner to check the attendance.
The DC highlighted on the preparation of Mini Hornbill Festival and requested members to give their full co-operation during the festival.
Agendas discussed in the meeting included complaint against irregular employees in Government offices and institutions submitted by Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SKK). The Board gave directions to submit attendance of DPDB members in the next meeting.
