Dimapur, July 17: Self Help Group movement has taken firm grip in Nagaland. Organic vegetable grown by a women’s self-help group has evoked great response in Nagaland. On July 17 at Kezo Basa village under Jakhama bloc, the farmers, mostly different SHGs were seen packing their vegetable to the market in Kohima.
One of the farmer’s complaint that they could cultivate as many as they can, but due to marketing linkage and market shed problem in Kohima, many farmers are afraid to grow vegetable as many as they can and cultivate only up to their capacity.
They urged upon the government to find out proper market linkage and also construct market shed in Kohima especially for the Southern Angami farmers. (Page News Service)
