Dimapur, October 23: In preparation for the observance of All Souls’ Day, the St. Francis de Sales ( SFS ) Parish, Kohima Town will organize a mass social at the common graveyard near BSF Camp on October 27 in Kohima.
There will be a social work to clean the common cemetery, a resting place for hundreds of departed, people of various denominations and tribes.
Rev. Fr. Richard Fernandes, parish priest of SFS have requested all the parishioners and the Catholics whose relatives are buried at the cemetery to participate in the annual mass social work.
The SFS Parish, a community comprising various different tribes, has also openly invited everyone concerned to share in the charitable undertaking.
Conveyance will be provided at 9 a.m. at Kezieke bus stand on Saturday to proceed to the cemetery.
All Souls’ Day is observed across the world on 2nd November every year and is a day commemorating the faithful who have died and praying for the souls of the departed.
