SF refutes NSCN (IM)’s allegation

Nagaland News

Dimapur, April 12: The Security Forces has refuted the allegations of NSCN (IM) against the “legitimate Assam Rifles post” at Doyapur and said it has been carrying out its bona fide task in that location for over two years.

Questioning the ‘ulterior motives’ of the complainants, a ‘rebuttal’ issued by PRO Defence, Kohima stated that Doyapur post plays a key role in providing a secure environment according to the wishes of the local populace, and the government.
It also stated that the said Post is situated at around 6 kms from Hebron camp, far beyond what is stipulated in the Cease Fire Ground Rules.
The Security Forces further stated that the various initiatives by the Post, also in conjunction with the civil administration have contributed in adding value to the lives of residents of Doyapur and its neighbouring villages.
It advised the NSCN (IM) to refrain from their “constant attempts directed at discrediting security forces to have a free hand in running its unlawful activities in the area.”
It said Assam Rifles is mandated to carry out operations to ensure peace and order and prevent any violation of ceasefire ground rules by any faction and would continue to do so and added such operations are always conducted with all Covid protocols in place.
The SF further stated that Assam Rifles has been carrying out numerous programmes towards helping the populace in combating the pandemic, and therefore to allege that they are willfully jeopardizing the people is preposterous and misleading.

Stating that the AR on their part remain committed to being the sentinels of peace and tranquility in the region, the SF said it would continue to operate against any faction which vitiates the security environment.
