Sensitization programme on mental health held

Dimapur, October 9: As part of the 10-day awareness campaign on Mental Health, a sensitization program on mental health on the theme “Make Mental Health & Wellbeing for All a Global Priority” was held at CTC Hall, Chumoukedima on October 8.
DCP, Chumoukedima, K.M. Munesh who attended the program as special guest stressed on early and timely intervention stating that prompt diagnosis and early intervention in the initial stages of a mental illness can have significant positive impact on a person’s prognosis.
She also talked about the social responsibilities towards mental illness.
SMO ( Psychiatrist ) DMHP, Dimapur, Dr. Temsuyanger was the resource person during the program who also spoke on importance of creating awareness about the mental illness and also reminded of the social responsibilities towards it.
The program was jointly organised by CMHP Prodigals Home and Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disability and supported by District Administration, District Mental health program, District Legal Services authority and gracious life foundation.
