DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 7: A meeting between the central team of senior NSCN/GPRN (IM) officials, led by the convenor, Steering Committee and the Lotha Hoho, was held on December 4 at Village Chairman Conference Hall, Wokha town.
Convenor, Steering Committee, Maj (Retd) Hutovi Chishi gave a brief historical outline of the Naga National Movement since its inception till the present day and the pivotal role being played by the NSCN.
Recalling the many historical events that took place in Lotha territory and the key role played by many Lothas in the course of the Naga national struggle, he called upon the Lothas not to fall prey to the divisive forces at play.
Dwelling upon the topic of “Framework Agreement and Competencies”, Steering Committee Executive Member, V Horam elaborated in detail the contents of the Framework Agreement and divulged the details envisaged by the NSCN in the final ‘solution’ with the Government of India.
According to a press release issued by Chichamo Tsanglao, Caretaker/CAO, Lotha Region, GPRN, the Speaker Tatar Hoho, Ashiho Assumi outlined the stance of the NSCN with regard to ‘reconciliation’. A detailed compendium of journey of reconciliation initiated by the FNR was provided to the house.
On the topic of ‘Pan Naga Hoho’, the Convenor, Ceasefire Monitoring Cell, Kihoi Swu explained that taking into consideration all Naga inhabited areas under the dominion of the present state of India, the idea of a ‘Pan Naga Hoho’ has been conceptualized to serve as a platform for the promotion of common Naga interests until such time a physical integration of all Naga inhabited areas is made possible.
Chairman, Lotha Hoho informed the house that no written memorandum had been prepared for submission to the central team. However, various grievances of the Lothas in general were communicated to the leaders which were duly noted and acknowledged by the NSCN/GPRN officials. He further stated that there is no dispute on whatever had been apprised and that the Lotha people welcome and accept a solution that is honourable and acceptable for the Nagas in general.
Earlier, the meeting was chaired by the Chairman Lotha Hoho, Mhondamo Ovung. The Chairperson extended warm welcome to the central team of senior NSCN/GRPRN officials.
The central team was led by Convenor, Steering Committee, Maj (retd) Hutovi Chishi comprising of Speaker Tatar Hoho, Ashiho Asoumi, Steering Committee Executive Member, V Horam, Convenor, CFMC, Kihoi Swu, Defence Secretary, Er Akaho Swu and PRO Col Vikato Achumi.
