Dimapur, December 21: Sendenyu Baptist Church and Council of Rengma Baptist Church jointly celebrated centenary jubilee from December 14 to 16 to commemorate the advent of Christianity and the establishment of the first Church in Rengma soil in 1918. The jubilee was graced by representatives from all churches under CRBC, and other neighbouring tribal churches and associations, friends and well-wishers, delegates from Sendenyu Baptist Church mission field Sukhna, West Bengal and a group of believers from South Korea.
The three-day centenary celebration deliberated upon the theme, “He has done great things for us”- Psalm 126. The jubilee was honoured by different speakers who emphasised their message on living a life in the fear of God, serving him faithfully, building a righteous generation and extending the Kingdom of God through mission and evangelism.
Dr Kim In-Soo, Director, Dandelion Community Development, South Korea emphasized the importance of developing a harmonious relationship between humans and nature besides our relationship with God the creator.
During the celebration, the Council of Rengma Baptist Churches gave two awards: Phenyuga Kemp Memorial Award to Rev. Asinlo Khing for meritorious service in mission and evangelism and Sendenyu Community Bio-diversity and Wildlife Conservation Committee for exemplary work in nature conservation.
