Seminar on floristic diversity of NE held


Dimapur, June 9: Immanuel College, IQAC and Research and Seminar Committee organised a one day seminar on “Floristic Diversity of North East India” at the college conference hall on Saturday for Botany students.
In the first session, resource person Dr Ashiho Asosii Mao, Scientist-F, Botanical Survey of India, Eastern Regional Centre, Shillong spoke on the topic ‘Floristic Diversity of North-East India’
The second resource person for the seminar was Dr Tarun Lunar Jana, HoD Botany, St. John College Dimapur, who spoke on the topic ‘A preliminary Census & Taxonomic Survey of Host Plants of Cuscutareflexa Dimapur District, Nagaland’.
In the second session, Dr Ashiho Asosii Mao presented on the topic ‘Medicinal Plants of North East India’. Vepu. Assistant Pof, Dept of Botany, Immanuel College spoke on the topic ‘Resource Potential & Challenges of Bamboo in Nagaland, North East India’.
The moderator for both the seminar was Imjungla Imchen, Asst. Prof. Dept. of History.
