Dimapur, June 20: Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports, Er. Zale Neikha has termed the selection of State Sports Academy, IG Stadium at Kohima to be established as Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE) to strengthen India’s pursuit of excellence in Olympics as “historic and defining moment for the people of Nagaland.”
In a release, the Advisor assured that the Youth Resources & Sports Department, Nagaland will strive to give its best in spite of the challenges in bringing about the opportunity into fruition and most of all. “The support and cooperation of the people will be most important ingredient in the strive towards Olympic excellence,” he said.
The Advisor also challenged all the sportspersons of the State to take the opportunity and start honing their skills as the upcoming KISCE will give a platform to train and compete on par at the national level to represent India in the international arena and bring laurels for the State and country.
He also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of India, Union Sports Minister and Chief Minister of Nagaland in recognizing the effort and giving the opportunity to the State to upgrade its sporting facilities into a national level centre of excellence. (Page News Service)
