Security tightened in Kohima for I-Day


Dimapur, August 13: The Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) carried out a security audit of Kohima town and surrounding areas to priortize and coordinate security measures and to ensure incident free celebration of Independence Day 2019.
According to an AR release, joint operations and exercises are also being conducted with police, CRPF and BSF to thwart any threat from anti national elements in coming days.
A first ever “joint training and exchange of intelligence” seminar was conducted in view of the forthcoming Independence Day celebration. Personnel of Kohima Assam Rifles Battalion, CRPF and BSF have undergone training under one umbrella wherein detailed intelligence sharing was undertaken.
Quick Reaction Teams of Assam Rifles and CRPF have also extensively dominated areas of Officer Hill Colony, Pulebadze, High School Junction in recent past, the release said.
A joint exercise of Assam Rifles and CRPF also rehearsed and fine tuned security of Raj Bhavan on August 10. These security measures are being undertaken so that inimical elements do not disturb peace in Nagaland, it said. (Page News Service)
