Kohima, June 22: Secretariat United Football Club (SUFC) Bulls has emerged champion of the first Kohima Town Club Open penalty shootout held IG Stadium Saturday.
SUFC Bulls claimed the title defeating Sechü Zubza FC Team C by 5-4 in the final shootout.
A total 37 teams from Kohima, Phek and Dimapur took part in the event.
The one-day event was organized by Kohima Town Club aimed to promote the ongoing Kohima football league in the state capital by bringing football lovers from all over the district and enabling to take part in the penalty shootout which apart from full time professional footballer, any amateur football player young and old, male or female can participate in the penalty shootout.
The champions SUFC Bulls walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, runners-up Sechü-Zubza FC Team C with Rs. 30,000 sponsored by Roukuozhalie Gwirie chief engineer power department.
Myingthungo Ezung of SUFC Bulls was adjusted the best goalkeeper with Rs.5000.
Block Development Officer RD Block, Jakhama Khovi Thaprü was the special guest during prize distribution ceremony. He also gave away the awards to the winning teams.
The champoins will walk away with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, runners up with Rs. 30,000 and including the individual award for best goalkeeper with Rs. 5000 thousands all along with citations.
