Dimapur, September 10: The Directorate of School Education has notified that the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009 (RTE Act) clearly mentions that Free & Compulsory education should be provided within the age group of 6 to 14. And whereas, it is the continued endeavour of the Department of School Education to ensure compliance of the RTE Act 2009.
Therefore, a ‘Child Enrolment Helpline’ has been started in the Directorate of School Education for complaints to be lodged through WhatsApp No: 60092 56788. Any concerned citizen is free to communicate to the department using WhatsApp or Text Message only with the following details.
1. Name &Age of Child requiring schooling.
2. Name & Address of the local guardian/ Parent.
3. Contact number of local guardian/Parent (if available).
4. Name of the nearest government school in the locality.
Efforts will be made to send the child to the nearest school in the locality, in coordination with the SDEO/DEO concerned. It is also to note that the details of the informers/well wishers will be kept absolutely confidential. Bogus information will, however, be dealt with sternly since it is tantamount to tarnishing the image of an innocent citizen.
All the concerned citizens of Nagaland have been requested to kindly come forward to ensure that not a single child is denied school education in the state.
