Dimapur, July 1: The SBI Foundation in partnership with AIDA Don Bosco launched the SBI Sanjeevani mobile medical van for rural areas of Dimapur with Dr I Moatemjen, Chief Medical officer, Dimapur, in presence of the SBI official, Rev Fr Dr Jose Kuruvachira, Salesian provincial, and other administrative officers, doctors and the staff of the ADIA.
A mélange event was organized to commemorate the flagging of the SBI Mobile Medical Van, SBI Bank Day and International Doctors Day. SBI Sanjeevani Mobile Medical Van will provide doorstep health service and other medical facilities to rural population of Dimapur under Chumukedima sub division.
Explaining the SBI Foundation, Rev Fr Joseph TT said SBI Foundation believes in a bottom-up approach for transforming villages and is committed to integrated rural development by adoption of villages.
Its partnership with AIDA, an NGO that is committed to the rural development of North East, will carry out the programme enviably, he said.
Chief Medical Officer Dr I Moatemjen stressed the need for ambulance and medical van service particularly in Dimapur. He thanked the SBI Foundation for partnering with AIDA in improving the socio-economic wellbeing of the rural population.
Abinash Hembrom, SBI, Assistant General Manager, Dimapur stated, “SBI is keen for socio economic development of the rural people. As such, it has formed subsidiary SBI foundation in Nagaland. We believe the real and long lasting changes can only be created when we join hands and put efforts.”
Rev Fr Dr. Jose Kuruvachira appreciated and placed on record the contribution of SBI foundation as well as SBI Card in initiating societal benefits to all geographical regions of the country irrespective of regional, linguistic, caste, creed, religious and other barriers. (Page News Service)
