Dimapur, December 2: Sand Stockiest & Suppliers Unions of Dimapur and Chumoukedima and Assam Sand Supply & Truck Owner Association, Nagaland have resolved to open the supply of sand at Manja route from December 2 and fixed the rate @ Rs 55 per cft (stock rate). The decision was taken in a meeting held today in view of the indefinite bandh on supply of sand at Manja route.
In the press release, the three organizations stated that the meeting discussed the matter of exorbitant rise in the price of sand and found that some individual adopted by the Nagas has been conspiring with the counterparts and deliberately looting the Naga populace by shooting up the price of sand at their own whims and fancies.
The organizations cautioned those individual to desist themselves from such unwarranted activities that jeopardize the interest of the Naga people and further stated that they would be compelled to initiate strict action against those individuals if found indulging in hiking the price of the sand for their own selfish benefits.
