
Dimapur, January 5: Salix CC defeated Juggernauts in the first match of the 26th edition of Winter Cricket Challenge on Wednesday at Wokha.
Juggernauts won the toss and opted to bat first. They were bowled out for 100 runs in 18.3 overs.
Anil Sharma with 23 and Romokhon with 13 were the top-scorers. For Salix, Hemari Teron claimed 3 wickets for only 12 runs in 4 overs, while Waisong claimed 2 wickets.
The chase lasted 19 overs as Salix reached the target with one wicket to spare. Naisong, the man-of-the-match, was the top-scorer with 40 not out.
In the second match, Royal Strikers defeated Hornbill CC by a margin of 45 runs.
After winning the toss, Strikers batted first and were bowled out for 146 in 19 overs. Aman and Akash scored 47 each.
In reply, Hornbill CC were restricted to 105 all out. Amar of Royal Strikers Tsumang claimed 3 wickets. For his all-wound performance, Amar was awarded the man-of-the-match.
