Sale-cum-Exhibition held for International Women’s Day

Dimapur, March 5: NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development), Nagaland Regional Office has organized a 2 day ‘Sale-cum-Exhibition’ at Big Bazaar campus, Dimapur on the occasion to celebrate International Women’s Day which will be celebrated on March 8.


Naga women from Self Help Groups and self entrepreneurs came from different districts to exhibit and showcase products made by different tribes of Naga Women. Products like traditional attires, local foods, organic soaps, baskets and bags made of banana fibre, flowers and many more local and organic products were exhibited for sale.
Talking to Nagaland Page, some self entrepreneurs who came from Wokha this morning, said that they were invited by NABARD to participate in the event. They said that it is a good opportunity for them as they are being exposed to a new environment, and hoped that the two day exhibition will be a success for them.
Another one, who is the proprietor of Amity Banana Fibre and Allied Products (ABFAP) said that their project is aimed at encouraging fellow citizens, young and old, to work together for an eco-friendly environment in the state.
Self Help Groups who came from different districts said that it is encouraging to see fellow women standing strong with their own products in the exhibition as it inspires each other to work harder and do better.
NABARD organized and sponsored the ‘Sale-cum-Exhibition’ for all Naga women from different districts and tribes to celebrate the contribution of women in our society, who are contributing to the socio-economic growth of the society.
