Dimapur, September 27: Satoi Area GB Association and Satoi Range Students’ Union have appealed to Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) for immediate restoration of Satakha-Satoi road and Satoi-Kohima-Kiphire highway in the interest of public service, safety and survival.
In a press release both the organization highlighted the issues regarding the road condition in the area, the only lifeline serving the administrative circle.
They stated that due to incessant rains, the area has been partially disconnected since the month of May, 2020 and much effort is being invested from all sectors in maintaining the road condition and connectivity in the area, but it is still in dire need for improvement.
The Organizations stated that the 44 Km Satakha to Satoi road and the 100 Kms road from Satoi to Kohima-Kiphire highway have been severely damaged and is not pliable.
These roads are the only lifeline of the area and with rockslides, landslides and portions of roads being washed away, the transportation of both public and essential commodities has been severely affected and the wellbeing and survival of the citizens are under threat as it remains completely cut-off, SAGBA president, Kaito Zhimo and SRSU president, Homugha Achumi stated.
