Kohima, November 25: Additional Director General of Police (DGP), Rupin Sharma, who was removed as DGP a couple of months back is once again caught in a controversy.
Sharma is reportedly seeking for a deputation and in the process he is also requesting the State Government to attach him with the Nagaland House to enable him to go for health check-up and pursue his deputation matter with the Union Government.
Sources said the file has been put up for consideration from the Deputy Chief Minister, Y. Patton who is also minister in-charge of Home and Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio.
But according to sources, misunderstanding has cropped up between Home Minister, Y Patton and Chief Secretary, R. Benchilo Thong over the process of the file.
Sharma has not been in the good book of the Home Department because of his short tenure as DGP, which was marred by controversies, after Government, including Home Minister, Patton, attempted to remove him as DGP despite huge support to the former DGP from the anti-corruption citizens.
Patton was allegedly caught in backdoor appointment controversy even after he had shifted blame to his officers. Nearly one thousand people were appointed in Police Departrment without the sanctioned posts.
Sources said Chief Minister has given nod for posting of Sharma and that direction has been given to Home Department to process the file.
