Kohima, Jun 12: Swift precautionary action of Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) in retrieving a truck driver suffering severe epileptic attack and falling unconscious in the State capital Friday morning and administering medical aid helped in stabilizing the patient.
Sources said that the medical team was informed about the driver of a Manipur bound goods laden truck lying unconscious on NH-2 just above Dairy Farm at Police New Reserve junction.
Taking all precautionary measures, an ambulance with health workers in full PPE reached the spot and took the driver to the NHAK, sources said but rumour mongers quickly took to social media in circulating false news of the driver suffering a COVID-19 attack.
Officials in NHAK informed that the driver’s swab was collected for testing while he was kept in the isolation ward for observation and the test results are not out.
But sources informed that the driver is suffering from epilepsy and also has liver problem because of which he felt unconscious.
Meanwhile, sources also confirmed that the said truck stopped at the present spot following a mechanical failure since Thursday night. (Page News Service)
