RTO Kohima informs about Vahan 4.0 & Sarathi 4.0


Dimapur, August 31: Keeping at pace with the changing needs for more efficient and speedy service delivery and total transparency, the Transport Department is adopting the latest generation of Vahan 4.0 and Sarathi 4.0 for all process of registration of vehicles and issue of driving license along with many other services.
This application is web based and all processes and required for vehicle registration and issue of license will be done in all real time basis.
The Regional Transport Office, Kohima will be adopting this application very shortly. This application enables realization of all the taxes and fees with late fines.
For instances; as per Government of India, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MORTH) through its Notification No. G. S. R. 1183(E) dated 29-12-2016, a sum of Rs. 300 per month is imposed for every two-wheeler, Rs. 500 per month for non-transport vehicles and Rs. 50 per day for transport vehicles as late fine after expiry of certificate of fitness.
To provide timely, quality, and speedy delivery of services, Regional Transport Officer, Kohima has appealed to all the vehicle owners and holders of driving license to come forth and update the vehicle taxes, fees and validate driving license, trade certificate, road permits, etc. so as to avoid heavy fines and inconveniences before October 31, 2018.
The RTO further informed all the stakeholders to co-operate with the officials of the Transport Department and promptly do the needful before the stipulated time. (Page News Service)
