Rs. 3816.64 lakhs for schemes in Kiphire Aspirational District: Dy CM Zeliang

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 11: Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister (Planning & Transformation and National Highway) TR Zeliang today said that projects worth Rs. 3816.64 lakhs have been allotted from various funding agencies to Kiphire Aspirational District.
Replying to MLA, C Kipili Sangtam’s unstarred query in the ongoing Assembly session, Zeliang said the funding agencies included; NITI Aayog – Rs. 1905.31 lakhs, Ministry of Skill Development & North Eastern Council – Rs. 552.76 lakh, Government of Nagaland – Rs. 100 lakh, Corporate Social Responsibility – Rs. 958.57 lakh and Tribal Affairs (Article 257 (1) – Rs. 300 lakhs.
From 2018 till date, an amount of Rs.2701.22 lakh has been sanctioned, Zeliang stated.
Schemes implemented so far include: 2 projects under Tribal Affairs, 22 projects under Special Corpus Fund (State Plan), 3 projects for health, tourism and infrastructure under NEC, 5 projects of development programme identified backward under 30% central sector scheme of NEC in Pungro town, Sankalp Piggery Project under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, procurement of hospital equipment to renovate District Hospital Kiphire under HUDCO (CSR), construction/extension of staff quarter for Medical department (8 nos) and teachers (14 nos) under Rural Electrification Corporation( CSR), 8 projects of transformation of school education and health service under Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd (CSR), 14 projects under NITI Aayog Award and 15 projects under NITI Aayog (Additional) for health nutrition, agri & water resources, education and basic infrastructure, 1 ambulance for District Hospital Kiphire under Oil India Limited (CSR) and 3 Modular Anganwadi Centre under Central Warehousing Corporation (CSR).
Zeliang stated that Planning & Transformation Department is the State Nodal Department to coordinate with the Kiphire Aspirational District whereas the District Administration is responsible for implementation of the schemes at the district level.
Dy CM Patton says 352 ASI posts in Nagaland
Deputy Chief Minister (Home) Y Patton today informed that the sanctioned strength of Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) posts under DEF Nagaland stands at 352.
Replying to an unstarred query of MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu in the floor of the Assembly, Patton informed that the total number of ASI appointees stands at 172.
On the criteria for ASI promotion to the next rank of Sub Inspector (SI), Patton informed that the criteria for ASI promotion is 50% by direct recruitment and 50% by promotion of available vacancy at a given time.
CM Rio says 60 CDPO offices in Nagaland
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who also holds the Social Welfare Department, informed that there are 60 Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) offices in the State.
He said this in reply to MLA Picto Shohe’s unstarred question.
On the reason for not creating a separate project/block under Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) for 32 A/C Atoizu till date, Rio informed that proposal had already been sent to Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India, but till date no sanction has been received.
Status of water supply to Phek town
PHED Minister Jacob Zhimomi informed that the detailed estimate for repair and partial replacement of main pipeline for water supply to Phek town from Laka source amounting to Rs. 42.59 lakh was received at PHED Directorate on June 15, 2023 which was forwarded to the Government for further instruction.
Replying to MLA Nienu, the Minister informed that the PHED Directorate was instructed for verification on June 21, 2023.
The estimate after verification by PHED Directorate was received on July 11.
After obtaining approval of Ministry, the proposal was forwarded to the State Planning & Transformation Department on July 18 seeking additional fund, he said.
