RPP cautions Govt. on NSSB interview

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 16: The Rising People’s Party (RPP) has cautioned the UDA Government that if the NSSB examination is conducted in the present format as notified, then the whole idea of transparency and fairness stands nullified.
In a letter to Chief Minister, RPP general secretary, Amai Chingkhu and secretary, Akum Longkumer stated that the RPP has reminded the Government time and again that there should be no interview system in NSSB selection process since written examination itself should suffice to choose candidates at this level.
“You may be well aware that the interview system in the NPSC has led to no holds barred nepotism and corruption for decades on and it’s the desire of the lot that enough is enough; that meritocracy should prevail in competitive examinations henceforth”, the RPP stated.
Asking why it is so difficult for the Government to put in place a system which would benefit hardworking and sincere students, a system which would surely pave the way for the establishment of a merit-based society, the RPP suggested to the Government to consider Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets with carbon copy to be used so as to aid the candidates to self-evaluate their marks; and publish the correct answer keys within a week in the local dailies after the conduct of examination to aid the same.
