Rotary Clubs provides free LN4 prosthetic hands to 37 beneficiaries

Dimapur, June 3: The Rotary Club of Dimapur today provided LN4 prosthetic hands to 37 beneficiaries in a free LN4 prosthetic hand fitting camp (Project Saksham) held at the Club here.
The camp was organized by Rotary Club of Dimapur & Rotary Club of Calcutta Presidency, West Bengal, while Rotary Clubs of Kohima, Mokokchung, Imphal, Polo City Imphal, Golaghat, Jorhat, Akhil Bhartiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan, Golaghat Branch & District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC), Dimapur also joined hands to identify the beneficiaries.
Gracing the occasion as chief guest, Advisor, Law & Justice, TN Mannen said the role of Rotary is more defined as they exist to serve others and do not care for themselves.
Stating that it was an opportunity to learn, Mannen lauded the Club for what they are doing and what they can do in future.
On the occasion, he also appreciated the Kashliwal family who has contributed for the success and benefit of the beneficiaries. He said the memories of the Kashliwal family will always be there in the minds of the people.
The Advisor also opined that people should come together to serve others and while lauding the Rotary Clubs, he also urged the Nagas to put their interest in such noble works.
DC Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal said that the Rotary Club has been playing important role in improving the lives of the people. He also congratulated the spirit of the Rotarians and hoped that they would continue to conduct such camps in future.
A beneficiary, Yekheto also spoke on the occasion and expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club for providing him free prosthetic hand.
A team of Rotarians from RC Calcutta Presidency comprising of Sangita Jain, Ranjan Musaddi, Abha Lunia, Rajesh Bothra, Saswati Mukherjee, Rashmi Surana and Anju Singhee oversaw the fitting of hands, while a team led by Dr DR Sharma and Dr Nitin Agarwal provided counselling to the beneficiaries.
The arrangements for the camp was sponsored by the Kashliwal family of Dimapur in memory of late Kailash Chand Kasliwal and late Phuli Devi Kasliwal.
