
Dimapur, October 2: Rotary Club of Dimapur hosted a marathon event on Monday drawing a significant turnout of 450 participants.
A press release informed that Club President Subir Saha set the tone for the day with a welcome address. Integral to the marathon’s management and success were the dedicated volunteers from Dimapur Bongs and Marwari Yuva Manch, it stated.
Among the 450 participants, the standout performances came from Chungameren Ao, Taliyanger Ozukum, and Keweko Kapfo, who bagged the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions, respectively, in the boys’ category. The girls’ category showcased the athletic prowess of Tsuchoi, followed closely by Songmo and Peiheiteile Esalung, securing the top three positions.
The event was graced by the presence of Tovihoto Ayemi, Advisor to Tribal Affairs & Election. He emphasised the essential role of sports and fitness in the holistic wellbeing of individuals and communities.
Ayemi applauded Rotary Club of Dimapur for spearheading such vital initiatives and extended congratulations for their relentless philanthropic endeavours benefiting the Dimapur populace.
