ROPK holds AGS-cum-Ngada celebration

Kohima, November 28: The Rengma Public Organisation Kohima (RPOK) organised its Annual General Session-cum-Ngada celebration (Mini-Hornbill Festival) on November 27 at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima.


The President of RPOK, Khinyi Woch, while conveying Ngada greetings, encouraged the gathering to foster good relationship with neighbours and friends, being residents of the State capital.
While reflecting on the achievements of the organisation over the past few years, he also encouraged the gathering to strive towards continually promoting and protecting the identity and welfare of the community in line with the organization’s motto, “Identity and welfare”.
He encouraged the youths to look beyond white-collar jobs, towards entrepreneurship and self-employment. He further encouraged the youths to explore the field of mass media and law which are integral for promoting the interests of the community.
During the function, a certification of recognition was also presented to writer, Joseph S Thong in recognition of his prolific and immense contributions in the field of Naga and Rengma vernacular literature.
Ngada greeting was delivered by Kenilo Apon, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland while Gwanilo Himb shared about the meaning, significance and Ngada practices.


The Tesophenyu Cultural Troupe Kohima made cultural presentation during the programme.
During the gathering, a new team of office-bearers for the tenure (2021-24) was also dedicated by Ahyulo Kemp (Associate Pastor, RBCK). The new team will be led by President K Gwanilo Himb. The event was followed by a feast.
