Dimapur, August 12: The District Road Safety Committee, Wokha conducted a road safety campaign to commemorate the celebration of 75th Years of India’s Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) at Wokha Town on August 12.
The programme was conducted in collaboration with District Transport Department and Traffic Police, Wokha. On the occasion, bikers driving without helmets were given helmets free of cost to sensitize them about the importance of wearing helmets.
And defaulters were also cautioned and warned for not wearing helmets, some of the defaulters were set free after warning as it was their first offence.
Activities like distribution of pamphlets, leaflets about road safety awareness were distributed to commuters. Poster campaign was also conducted on the day. (Page News Service)
