Road rage incident: Dy CM instructs “top officials concerned” to act without fear or favour

DIMAPUR, MAY May 22: Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has instructed “top officials concerned” to act without fear or favour in connection with the recent violent incident in the streets of State capital Kohima.
A press release on Wednesday stated that Patton further directed the officials to deliver justice to the deceased’s family while bringing the perpetrators to book under relevant sections of law.
The Deputy Chief Minister condemned the incident that had resulted in the death of Kezhalelie Lawrence, PA to the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima. He said that such heinous acts have no place in a progressive society.
Also, Patton appealed for a matured approach towards the “unfortunate matter, and upon his arrival from Delhi, assured to look into the matter relating to Government laid down provisions and procedures, since the deceased was a legitimate Government servant under his Department”.
He offered condolences to the bereaved family members.
