Dimapur, April 6: Deputy Chief Minister and Minster incharge for Home and National Highways, Y Patton said road development and maintenance across the state would be his priority.
He stressed that the road development objectives is not confined with particular area but would carry out across the state. He said at present almost all the roads in Nagaland are in a deplorable condition.
Speaking at the thanks giving service held on Thursday at his private residence at Wokha, Patton urged the public in general in the state not to hamper the governmental road construction, other developmental activities in the name of landownership as developmental activities is for the society and the citizen.
Patton also said he choose to contest the during the last general election on BJP ticket to voice out, to protect and to support the Christian minorities as atrocities committed against the Christians minorities in the country by the some by vested-interest groups by taking the names of the political parties like BJP.
The Deputy Chief Minister also urged the Naga Christian believers not to misquote BJP party as the anti-Christian party, and clarified that, unlike any other political party, BJP is purely a political party and has nothing to do with religion, but it promotes secularism.
He dedicated his victory to Almighty God, and further acknowledged the support from central BJP parties leaders, all the parties rank and files, state and district BJP leaders and supporters.
He personally acknowledged the chief minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio for his trust and accommodating him for the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, which is for the 1st time that the Lotha Naga community has hold the highest chair at the government level.
The programme was also followed with short speeches from Mhao Humtsoe Chairman Lotha Hoho, Meribemo Humtsoe, BJP president Wokha unit, Ntsemo Ngullie, Chairman Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission, and Atso Dolo, former BJP candidate from 17 Chizami Phek.
Special thanks giving and blessing prayer was pronounced by Rev. Rhyutsemo Ngullie Pastor Tsungiki Baptist Church, while invocation prayer was said by Rev. Fr. AD Jose parish priest Wokha. (Page News Service)
