Dimapur, March 17: The Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) conducted its 4th quarter review meeting on March 14 in the conference hall, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima which was attended by all the District TB Officers, Senior Treatment Supervisors (STSs) and Nikshay operators along with State TB Cell staff. Dr Apichetla Amer, Assistant Programme Officer (RNTCP) delivered the welcome address.
Dr PalashTalukdar, WHO consultant for RNTCP while making the State performance presentation for 2018 exhorted the District staff to update all NIKSHAY entries of all indicators such as TB co-morbidities, contact tracing, treatment outcome, U-DST etc, so that a clearer picture is portrayed of the State’s achievement.
With a TB elimination target by 2025 as set by GoI, the programme is starting many new initiatives with a time line such as Nikshay Poshan Yojana through DBT (District Benefit Transfer) for all TB patients, universal drug susceptibility tests, active case finding, tb collaborative activities with other sectors. In order to successfully implement all these activities a comprehensive planning and sincere effort of all categories of staff at various levels is of prime importance. This was stressed upon during the course of the meeting by all speakers.
Dr Tiasunup Pongener, State Programme Officer (RNTCP) led the discussion and adopted resolution on some key issues like all pending bank account seeding of all beneficiaries to be completed by 30th April 2019 and all other backlog entries on NIKSHAY to be done by 30th March 2019. He also urged the attendees to be regular in their respective place of posting and discharge their duties to the best of their abilities.
Other agendas for discussion in the meeting were on CBNAAT utilization, World TB Day activities which is to be observed on 24th March all over the State and also on private public mix activities, incentive for treatment supporters, etc. (Page News Service)
