Kohima, March 11: Maleate, a group of eight young male singers, released their debut album titled “Telling the world about His love”.
The album contains ten songs – five each in English and Tenyidie – remixed by Maleate and released by Executive Director of Angami Baptist Churches Council Rev Dr Rachülie Vihienuo during the launching function held at De Oriental Grand here this evening. The singers are Kekhrieyie Belho, Khrietsonyü Whuorie & Viketouco Belho on Soprano, Vilakienyü Liezietsu on Alto, Kevidzezo Suokhrie & Mharavizo Kesiezie on Tenor and Ruokuokhrietuo Mepfhüo & Petsüsetuo Liezietsu on Bass.
Speaking at the event, Rev Dr Vihienuo said the church has a huge role to play in the promotion of gospel music and patronizing the talent of its members.
He encouraged the churches to take it as an opportunity to facilitate musicians so that Christian artists can make it their career and not only a short term goal.
Also pointing out that Nagaland lacks Christian Music Awards, Rev Dr Vihienuo stressed on the need to initiate such platforms to recognize the Christian music quality and standards.
He also emphasized on the need to produce original music and songs while also singing other’s songs and also encouraged musicians to live a life of testimony.
Medoselhou Keretsü pronounced blessing on the Maleate group. Pastor of Khedi Baptist Church, Dr Ruokuovilie Sachü chaired the programme.
