Dimapur, November 28: The NFHRCC has urged the Doyang bridge contractor to resume the bridge construction immediately as working season has already set in. It appealed to the contractor to complete the bridge construction within this working season.
In a press release, NFHRCC convenor Supu Jamir and general secretary W Lemba Chang said the foothills road will not survive without Doyang Bridge. “Therefore bridge construction is paramount and as such the same should be completed without much delay as enough time has been lapsed,” it said.
Calling upon all to contemplate seriously why all major projects in the State are often delayed and sometime abandoned without completion, which, it said, is the sorry state of affairs, the NFHRCC appealed to all the concerned starting from politicians, bureaucrats, technocrats and contractors not to lose sight of the welfare and hardships faced by the public.
The committee also appealed to Governor RN Ravi to press upon the Government of India to declare the foot hills project as National Highway. “Admittedly, once the foot hills road is constructed it will be a lifeline for the entire state, unemployment problem will be solved to large extend and the state economy will reap the bountiful harvest therefore the committee have a strong believe that Hon’ble Governor will fully understands the aspiration of the Naga public.”
The NFHRCC added that it wants to have a sitting with the Governor at the earliest in order to project a clear picture of the historic project “so that right prescription will be prescribed to the project” through the intervention of the Governor and Interlocutor of Indo-Naga peace talk.
